Underwood Meat Company has installed a 438 kWp rooftop solar array at its Rotherham site. Chilled storage, processing and distribution run around the clock, and refrigeration load does not ease off when energy prices climb. Supplying caterers and hospitality across the UK for close to fifty years, the company now generates close to 400,000 kWh of its own electricity each year, with 84% used on site - offsetting the refrigeration load exactly when it runs hardest.
