Custom Glass has installed an 892 kWp rooftop solar array at its Liverpool site. Flat glass processing is relentless on power - toughening furnaces, sealed-unit lines and cutting tables all draw heavily straight through the working day. After more than forty years as one of the UK's leading independent processors, the company now generates almost 790,000 kWh of its own electricity each year, with 87% of it used on site. Cheaper, cleaner power produced exactly where the furnaces draw it.
